a block and a new(ish) car

Hey, I actually finished a project early! I’m in a group that has a monthly block swap and the theme for April is “baskets”. I stitched this on JAR Designs hand-painted fabric, using DMC.

DHs car bit the dust a few days ago; it had 180,000 miles on it so I can’t complain. We put in a call to a friend-of-a-friend at a dealership to be on the lookout for an affordable, dependable car. Just a short time later, he called us about a trade-in that was taking place… a grandmother had to go into a nursing home, and the granddaughter wanted to use the car for a trade in on something sporty. The car is like new, having only 10k miles on it. (It’s a 2004 Nissan Sentra) My daughter & I did try to talk DH into getting a 2007 bright blue Nissan Versa, but his golf clubs wouldn’t fit in the hatchback area so no dice.

  1. Cute finish, and the fabric it is on is perfect. Glad that it looks like you’ve found a good car that will work out for you.

  2. So cute, Monique!

Car shopping. Ugh. It’s nearly as bad as shopping for jeans, but TWO people have to agree! LOL!

  3. Beautiful block, Monique… and the fabby is lovely! :-)

Glad you found a new car so quickly… albeit sorry dh wouldn’t go for the one you and your dd wanted… :-) keep working on him! ;-)
