This morning, we heard that the sandbagging effort had failed, and that more homes were affected… decided to go down and walk the train tracks. This is some of what we saw:

  1. was watching the news yesterday morning and almost jumped off the couch when i heard a levee broke and water headed to Winfield.:( a scenario similar to Cedar Rapids residents here in Iowa, whre officials had to go house to house to advise everybody what’s going on. i hope you and your family are all safe.
a storm here killed 2 teenagers last night, and some part of iowa had big-size hail. i hope mother nature will stop throwing bad weather.:(

  3. There aren’t adequate words to express
how sad this situation is. Let’s hope
that aid and support are quick to arrive
and sufficient to restore people’s lives
    to pre-flooding standards. And hopefully
the muskrats will find something better to
do with their time then poking holes in
    dyke’s.

On a somewhat brighter note, the gathering
of stitchers at Teresa’s home looked like
it was a lot of fun for all.

Her Lizzie Kate finish, framed and hung
in the hallway, is spectacular!! I’ve
never seen these stitched all together
and they look amazing. What a treasure!

Thanks for posting the cover to the
Ornament issue of JCS. I look forward
to seeing your design, and picture!!
You did submit a picture of yourself I
hope? Can you believe that we’re talking
    about this issue already??

    Cheers!

  4. Amazing photos Monique. I do hope things settle down there soon. It must be awful.

Your get together at Teresa’s looks great fun. Love the L*K.

So nice to see a piccie of the front cover of the ornie issue. Looks like there’ll be loads more I want to stitch again ( but never get done!)
