a pretty short Branson report

I love my Branson vacations.  I’ve been going down for stitching retreats hosted by Cecilia’s Samplers for a while now, and each one is better than the last.  Thursday night we had the Fuddruckers people come out and grill up burgers for all of us on site… they even brought a full toppings bar and set up a soda fountain!

The pictures show some of the stuff that followed me home. Holly always comes up with great goodies (isn’t that piggy bank cute?) and stuff for us to work on.  I had the option of receiving a store gift card or stitching projects, and I chose the projects–most of those are in that 3rd pic.  Some of the little gifty things were quickly spirited away by various family members…  I don’t remember now what’s missing.

I didn’t buy much this time because I’m gearing up for another vacation.  I purchased:

  • Heinzeit shuttle/frame
  • “Here Lyes Thread” winder from GOSM
  • Pine Mountain, “Autumn Abode” kit
  • JBW, “Queen Bee” chart
  • “Nativity Line Up by The Trilogy
  • Homespun’s stitching Santa (name??)

…and probably something else that I forgot to take a picture of.  Oh- scissors!  Cecilia’s gave each of us a pair of the new black & white floral storks, and I bought the coordinating pair.  Because a girl can’t have too many scissors, right?

Just 148 days until the Spring retreat!

my daughter said i was ‘so random’

You’re so boring boring boring
Always tape machine recording
You’re so boring boring boring
I’ve heard all this before

I’ve had this song stuck in my head all morning. Remember the Dead Kennedys? I used to love, love, love them… I would have had the DK logo tattooed onto my arm at age 13 if my mother had let me. They’re planning a short Fall tour, but even if I did live near one of the venues I think I’d be scared to go. I’m way too momish to even contemplate such a thing anymore.

Back to the song: I feel like I’ve been such a boring blogger lately! I’m working on some neat things, but I can’t share them just yet. I’ve done a few designs, which will be published in CS&N mag next year. I’m starting another needlework-related business, and have my distributor lined up– products to be released next year. I’m working with some partners to get another craft-related business off the ground, which will be BIG news– next year. And so on.

So what’s happening now? A lot of mother-y things (it’s volleyball season), and a lot of housework (8 months of census has taken its toll). Oh- I did just attend/work the St. Charles TNNA show… guess I should show off my goodies:

And of course I have a few things to pick up from my LNS later today, on my way to the volleyball game, after I get a haircut, but before I visit a new gym, and way after I finish the designs that are due by tomorrow. Did I just hear the dryer buzz?

How I wish that there were more
Than the 24 hours in the day
Even if I ran out of speed, boy
I wouldn’t sleep a minute of the way

I couldn’t resist…

I need a scissors holder like I need a hole in my head but this little sheep is SO cute, right?  I bought him from Cecilia’s Samplers when I was down there for a stitchy weekend in April.  (just now unpacking) And the Moda fabric is for my collection.  See, if I say it that way I don’t feel like I have to use it to make something ;)

hodgepodgy goodness

Man, what’s it been… like a month since I’ve blogged?! Here’s a quick & dirty roundup of what’s been going on around here lately:

1. I got these super pretty tatted butterflies in the mail today from Lelia

2. Elizabeth wanted me to buy her this shirt… I love anthropomorphic foods!

3. I switched out the LK stitchery in the hallway so now it’s officially April

4. Barbara sent me the elusive BOAF birthday cat chart I’ve been seeking forever

5. I’ve been reading the Wimpy Kid books… very funny :)

6. This is the Easter Mouse (just go with it)

7. We colored eggs today; they aren’t as creative as they’ve been in past years…

8. …unless you count using my coffee to dye an egg! See what I have to put up with?

9. My Mark is now 5 years old! Thank you to all of you who have supported & encouraged me; I wouldn’t have made it without you…
