May the 4th be with you!

Happy Star Wars day! We celebrated the occasion with a Star Wars Stew for dinner…. Darth Vader taders, baby carrot light sabers (youngling size), chicken from Luke’s uncle Owen’s farm on Tatooine, and a can of Yoda guts (cream of celery soup) topped off with adult-sized celery stalk light sabers.  Yummy AND festive ;)

050415may May is one of my favorite months (October is the other) and so far it’s been great!  In just 3 days we’ve celebrated:

  • May Day
  • Free Comic Book Day
  • the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron
  • Derby Day
  • a royal birth (my money is on Alice for her name, since there’s no chance she’ll ever become Queen)
  • International Harry Potter Day
  • Space Day

I’ve also started clearing a spot under the tree in the front yard, anxiously awaiting the day I have energy to finish the job and plant my fairy garden.  The neighbor (and her 432 children that run amuck in our yard) is moving so this might finally be the year I can build one without worrying it will get trampled. Later in the month is Star Wars Day, Cinco De Mayo, A friend’s birthday, Hubby’s birthday, a trip to Harry Potter world at Universal, the end of the school year…. blah, blah, blah.

Long story short: I adore May. sp5

Attic Needlework in AZ

I haven’t visited more than about a dozen shops in the US, but The Attic has to be one of the most beautiful in existence. The owner, Jean, does such an amazing job with the store displays… It’s clear she has a passion for cross stitch!
I was fortunate enough to spend an entire Friday hanging out here, and the entire day was just lovely. I met a few fellow designers and a customer who had stitched several of my designs, and also found a few things I needed to buy.

Yep, this is stitching heaven…
